Body scanner

Body scanners

Under the direction of the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, body scanners have been introduced at security checkpoints for international flights in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 in order to further strengthen security inspections and to ensure the smooth passage of passengers through security screening.

Personal privacy is given full consideration. The image data is converted into an animated image and is automatically deleted after each screening.

Careful consideration is also given to health effects. The strength of the radio waves is approximately one several-hundredth to one ten-thousandth of that of a mobile phone.
