New information booths open at KIX for the Osaka-Kansai Expo!
PR booths are now available on the first floor of the Terminal 1 building at Kansai International Airport (KIX) to disseminate information about the Expo.
The booths offer hands-on content that visitors can experience and learn from about the airport's environmental initiatives and tourism information about western Japan while having fun.
1. Booth introducing environmental initiatives
Based on the theme of the Expo, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” the booth introduces the efforts made by KIX, an offshore airport, to harmonize with nature, as well as important topics for airports in the future society.
In addition to panel displays, non-verbal interactive content such as “face recognition monitors” and “3D holograms” have been installed so that a variety of visitors can become familiar with the airport.

2. Tourism PR booth for the Expo (operated by the Tourism PR Booth Steering Committee for the Osaka-Kansai Expo)
We hope that the Expo will lead to more people becoming interested in traveling to Japan.
This tourism PR booth will promote wide-area excursions to western Japan in a new and unprecedented way.
A “Kansai regional digital map” that consolidates tourist information for each area is displayed on the monitor.
Visitors can also enjoy content using a new technology called “vibro-scape (tactile landscape),” where visitors can experience images of tourist attractions through sound and tactile sensations.
