LovePiano
At the entrance to the Observation Deck on the 4th floor of the North Terminal in Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport), there is a painted piano (nicknamed: "LovePiano," provided by Yamaha Music Japan Co., Ltd.) set up that anyone can play. Before that, there will be a "LovePiano" exhibit set up in front of the DEAN & DELUCA CAFE on the 3rd floor of the Central Block from April 13th (Sat) to the 17th (Wed).
The goal of the "LovePiano" is to feel the piano close to you and enjoy. This is the simple wish behind the beginning of this project by Yamaha Music Japan Co., Ltd. Yamaha is putting this "LovePiano" themed painted piano in various open spaces throughout Japan to pursue this wish.
The idea of putting a piano in open spaces is also called street piano, and has been implemented in America and is popular in recent television shows as well. The "LovePiano" has come to Osaka International Airport with the cooperation of Yamaha Music Japan Co., Ltd. so that visitors to the airport can freely play and enjoy the piano.
During the event, the "LovePiano" will be placed at the entrance to the Observation Deck on the 4th floor of the North Terminal. Anyone who passes through that area is welcome to freely play the piano. On April 20 (Sat), the piano will be moved to the rooftop deck and Yukie Nishimura, a pianist who is active both internationally and domestically, will hold a performance. This event will provide a beautiful sound that is not often heard at an airport. During the event Sora-yan, the official mascot of Kansai Airports Group, will make an appearance for extra fun.
